I am a power user. I have a lot of windows open on my computer at the same time. I usually use nothing but the best computers from CustomPerfect.com but they don’t build laptops, and today I am working on my crappy Gateway laptop.
If I had a choice in the matter, I would be running Windows XP, but this thing came with Vista already installed. I fricking hate Vista.
Here is how Vista screwed me today!
Vista had some windows updates that it had downloaded and it wanted to restart the computer. I said no. But my only choice was to choose how long I wanted to “POSTPONE” the computer rebooting. I picked 4 hours, which was the longest choice I was given by the power hungry Vista. 4 hours later I am eating lunch, only a foot away from the laptop when it decides to reboot all on it’s own.
Vista is like the US Government. It is SUPPOSED to work FOR ME, but instead it THINKS IT’S THE BOSS.
I don’t want to be bullied around by my damn operating system. What the hell is the point? My computer should NEVER reboot without my permission. I LOST ALL MY WORK!
Everything in Vista is like this. It tries to be intuitive, but it comes across as a bossy AI. Listen up Vista, I am the boss of the hardware that I purchased.I’m going to tell Vista the same thing my Dad told me growing up: “I make the rules and if you can’t live by my rules then don’t let the door hit you in the ass on your way out”
Today Microsoft announced that they are cutting the price of Vista by 20% in the US, and up to 50% in Europe. Tell you what Microsoft, why don’t you just give people what they want instead of cutting your price on a product that people don’t want and trying to force them to accept it.
I was at a coffeehouse the other day and overheard a conversation between a father and his son.
